Kaminoyu Onsen

Kaminoyu Onsen is a hot-spring place in Yakumo town located in the northwestern part of Hakodate city and is known for hot springs that have been gushing out since the Ainu period. There are Ginkonyu (銀婚湯) and Seiryuen (清龍園) in mountains. There is Banjyaku Onsen (盤石温泉) (one of famous secret onsen) near the Kaminoyu Onsen.

Pacific Onsen Hotel Seiryuen

Seiryuen is one of hot-spring hotels only in 9 hot spring places that gush forth with high temperature of 98 degrees centigrade from 120 meters below ground in Japan. There is a building near a park golf course.

There are 2 open-air baths, 2 indoor baths, 1 cold bath and 1 sauna at a bathhouse. Fresh free flowing hot springs overflow from bathtubs. There are the cold bath and the sauna at another hut, bathers can go in and go out via open-air baths. The open-air baths are provided with a garden, and the bathers can enjoy a sence of openness. Very comfortable! However, the hot springs are very hot, and the bathers may not take a bath near a hot spring gushing place.

The hot springs are sodium chloride sulfate spring, and are clear and light green and have salty taste and metallic taste smell. The sum total of the hot spring ingredients are 7.2 g. Because a public health center does not permit, unfortunately the hot springs are not drinkable. Soaps are provided at the bathhouse. A restroom and a free hair dryer are installed at a dressing room. A staying is possible, too.

Onsen Ryokan Ginkonyu

Ginkonyu is one of the most famous hot-spring hotels in Japan and was founded in 1927. The plottage has 16528 m2 and is very large area. There are walk paths on the large site, and chartered baths are built along the walk paths. There are 7 bathhouses in total, but visitors for day trip can take a bath only at a building.

There are 1 outdoor bath and 1 indoor bath at the bathhouse of the building. Hot springs are sodium chloride spring, and are clear and light yellow and have salty taste and no smell. Shampoos and body soaps are provided at the bathhouse. A restroom and free hair dryers are installed at a dressing room. A staying is possible, too. Because there are a lot of outdoor baths for exclusive use of hotel guests, the staying seems to enjoy taking a bath than the day trip bathing.
